Hello, and welcome to my digital space.

I’m a data engineer based in Berlin, Germany, and I’ve spent the past 20 years working with data, infrastructure and large-scale systems.

My career began in Brazil, where I worked in infrastructure for some of the country’s first internet service providers, working as sysop for Unix based sustems (BSD, Solaris, Linux).

Over time, my focus shifted from infrastructure to data. Today, I work with data ingestion pipelines: designing and building scalable applications that collect, store and process large volumes of data. It’s the part of the data stack I enjoy most, the point where raw, messy, real-world information first meets KPI, business decisions, data warehouse.

The tools I work with day to day include Apache Spark, Databricks, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Apache Iceberg, Apache Airflow, DBT and Python, my main programming language. I also developed data products in Scala.

Open Source contributions

Beyond my day job, I love contributing to open source projects. I’m a Fedora Linux package maintainer, and I contribute to PostgreSQL, including as a member of the PostgreSQL European Advocacy Group, helping promote and grow the community. I also join and contribute with Python events and meetups.
